For some reason the kids I knew as a teenager, mostly school related, thrived on "just kidding" to cover any awkwardness in situations. You did well on a test, hey here's a compliment and while you're flying high the "JK" drops too! Repeatedly doing well on tests and sports I started accepting compliments too quickly only because I was expecting a "JK" to follow. Even though I know better now, I still gingerly accept a compliment. Thanks Jules for putting this up! I like how my brain reasoned out my dislike for receiving compliments!
