One other one that frequently works: Go to someone else's writing/art/music/film/etc for inspiration. Especially if it has some similarities in theme or style to what you are working on. I think part of the reason it works, aside from just inspiring each other, is that there's an aura of friendly competition -- we feel accountable to our friends, and want to actually <em>produce</em> something along with them, instead of watching them fly by us.
